what is 基本的感情关系 before we proceed to lover relationship? i have a past relationship and it ended after 5 years, after that i am afraid to start another new relationship.... kindly give me some advise on this .... thank you. sorry for writing in english as my pc only have english and japanese & i do not have chinese software here.

i often say on this column that if two persons
can not be best friends, they certainly could
not be lovers. so the start of love must be
a deep friendship, involving extensive mutual
understanding. two people should have exchanged
their views on a wide variety of issues ranging
from ones encountered in everyday life to ones
that affect the world. this is essential and
does not require that the two people agree on
everything, but they must know what each other's
views are. when this mutual discover reach a
certain point, the conditions would be ripe for
love.
any relationship, even the best ones, has the
potential of ending. it is natural to want
to avoid past pain but you can not let one
relationship that failed stop you from starting
another. the important thing is to learn from
each experience.
