hello aibai, ...

marry (先生) :

hello aibai, this is the extraction from a famous usa’s science book< the demography of health and health care pol, louis g. author. ; thomas, richard k. author.>;:
“in general, it is held that health status, both mental and physical, is
higher for the married in u.s. society than for those of any other marital
status. married individuals are found to have lower levels of morbidity and
mortality, to have lower levels of disability and restriction of activity, and
to perceive themselves as being in much better health. similarly, the married
are found to have lower levels of mental disorder. it has also been found
that married individuals, when affected with a health problem, suffer less
serious problems, face a more favorable prognosis, and report a more
favorable outcome.” now do you think chinese gays are almost all getting married is kind of essential for their healthy survival?

damien lu :

first, this is by no means a "famous book", and its statements are controversial. the book is also outdated.

second, it is true that intimate relationships improves health, but intimate relationship does not mean marriage only, and certainly does not mean heterosexual marriage only. in fact, there are strong evidence that gays who enters into heterosexual marriages suffer more mental and physical health issues.

finally, even one's health is not an excuse to lie to marry an unsuspecting victim and rob someone of their happiness. that is just an evil act, and no health benefit would come from such an act.
